Fire crews were called to 10 Brown Road around 8:00 a.m. Heavy black smoke could be seen for miles away as firefighters responded to the call. The building contained farm supplies, machinery and other items.

A tour bus caught fire on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Chester County Friday night, shutting down a lane of traffic. The bus burst into flames shortly after 9:20 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 76 at mile marker 307, about eight miles east of the Morgantown exit, according to state police from the Troop T station in Bowmansville.

Officials would not discuss the suspensions of the assistant superintendent, Angelo Romaniello, and supervisor Matt Como, but the moves come as the Chester County district continues to grapple with the fallout from investigations - both internally and by the district attorney - into its management. Romaniello served as interim superintendent last year after the resignation of Superintendent Richard Como in the wake of the discovery of racist and sexist text messages on his district-issued phone.

An international con artist who stole $260,000 from an elderly East Caln man was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison Friday in Chester County. Jack Mayer, a 43-year-old Italian man who says he is a French citizen, stole nearly half a million dollars from elderly Americans in 2010 through a complex scheme that convinced victims they had won $3.5 million in a sweepstakes.

The Coatesville Area School District's board voted unanimously Thursday night to sue its former superintendent and its former high school athletic director to recover any money the district may have lost due to the men's alleged misconduct. The district is acting now before the statute of limitations on some of the claims against former Superintendent Richard Como and former athletic director James Donato can expire.

A top financial officer at a Paoli brokerage firm stole $750,000 from the company, spending the money on high-end clothing from Bergdorf Goodman, a vacation in Mexico and stays at luxury hotels, including New York's Waldorf Astoria. Tracey McShane, 40, of Chester County, was indicted Tuesday on federal charges of wire fraud and filing false tax returns in the theft from Pacer Financial Inc. McShane, who could not be reach for comment, was Pacer's director of financial operations, responsible for bookkeeping, general accounting, and overseeing the payroll.
