Trump Tweets About Greta, Then Gets Called a 'Punk'Newser — Arden Dier
"So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend!" Trump, a finalist for the title, tweeted Thursday morning, adding, "Chill Greta, Chill!" The 16-year-old climate activist, who previously said she wouldn't meet with Trump if asked, took it in stride.
"A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend," reads her Twitter bio, which was similarly altered after she was criticized by Brazil's president.
Others, however, called out the leader of the free world for bullying a child. Anthony Scaramucci, who briefly served as White House communications director in 2017, called his former boss a "bully," "punk," and "despicable person." "No normal person would find this sort of behavior tolerable. Much less from a global leader," he tweeted.
Donald Trump Jr. also took issue with Time's decision, per NBC News. "Time leaves out the Hong Kong Protesters fighting for their lives and freedoms to push a teen being used as a marketing gimmick," he tweeted Tuesday, adding Thunberg's famous line, "How dare you?" The protesters, another finalist for the title alongside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, came out on top in Time's reader poll.
